Armenia as a homeland of wine
Tour Program:
Airport transfer - City tour in Yerevan
We start our tour from the heart of Yerevan from Republic Square, where it becomes clear why Yerevan is considered to be a pink city. The most important government buildings are gathered here. The cherry on the cake is the singing fountains, which betray the unique atmosphere of the city and color Yerevan evenings. Walking along the old streets of Yerevan, we get to the Northern Avenue. All buildings, cafes, restaurants, shops are crowded with people, life is in full swing here all the time, at any time of the day. Walking we will get straight to the building Opera and Ballet and then to the Cascade, from the height of which a magnificent view of the whole city opens. The current identity of the Armenians was largely formed as a result of the Genocide in 1915. In May 2014 , Forbes magazine included The Armenian Genocide Museum is included in the list of 9 memorial museums that everyone should visit. In the Museum you can learn everything about the events that led to the Genocide, about the Genocide itself and the reaction of the world, including the famous words of Hitler “Who remembers the Armenians now”" After that we will have a walk along the wine street of Yerevan, where there are many restaurants, in one of which we will try different kinds of wines and talk heart to heart.

Yerevan - Saghmosavank Monastery - Hovhanavank Monastery - Voskevaz Winery - Yerevan
After breakfast we leave in the direction of Saghmosavank. The monastery rises above the gorge near the Kasakh River, from the shore of which a wonderful view of the monastery opens. After that we continue our journey in the direction of Hovhannavank. The monastery was built in the 12th century from orange and black tuff, a type of limestone common in Armenian architecture, which gives it a striking checkered pattern. What makes this church so impressive, apart from its age, is its location. The monastery stands on the edge of the Kasagh Canyon, a long and wide gorge cut by the Kasag River. Therefore, the view from the monastery is simply amazing. Then we are waiting for a real fairy-tale castle. In the winery Voskevaz, which is located on the Ararat Valley, we will taste the wines that are famous among tourists, in addition, the territory is stunningly beautiful for walking.

Yerevan - Charents Arch - Gegard Monastery - Garni temple - Lavash baking master-class - "Ararat" cognac factory - Yerevan
Our first stop is the Charents Arch, which offers a truly stunning view of the snow-covered Biblical Mount Ararat, which has become a symbol of Armenia. Continuing our way, we get to the Geghard Monastery standing proudly over the abyss. Geghard is the spear that Longinus plunged into the hypochondrium of Jesus Christ, crucified on the Cross. The monastery, built in the IV century, is carved into the rock and is included in UNESCO. Then we are waiting for Garni. The pagan temple in the Greek style, the stones of which are about two meters long, fastened with staples and pins, is one of a kind. After a rich history of the day, we are waiting for the most fascinating and delicious journey for fragrant Armenian bread. We will take part in the baking and tasting of lavash, which will definitely not leave you indifferent. The end of the day will be a tour of the Ararat Brandy Factory. The French royal drink quickly became popular around the world. But apart from Armenians, no one else has the right to call their drink Cognac, they use the name Brandy instead. An admirer of Armenian brandy was Winston Churchill, who could not do without it for a day. During the tour, we will also have the opportunity to taste such a divine drink.

After our adventures, we are taken to the "Areni" winery, for tasting wines that are famous not only in Armenia but also far abroad. Then we follow the hilly roads to Noravank towering among the red rocks. The monastery built in the XIII century surprises not only with its unique beauty, but also with a sad love story that is kept among its walls. According to how much the Vayots Dzor region is famous for many grape orchards, during this tour we will have another wine tasting, this time in the "Old Bridge" winery. Here we will have the opportunity not only to taste the wines, but also to get acquainted with the family that opened this paradise for visitors.

Yerevan - Etchmiadzin - St. Gayane - St. Hripsime - Echmiadzin Cathedral - "Voskeni" Winery - Transfer to the Airport
We start our tour with the religious capital of Armenia, also known as the Holy City. The first stop is the churches of St. Hripsime and St. Gayane, which are two of the three churches in Etchmiadzin dedicated to Christian martyrs who fled Rome with their abbess Gayane, which are listed as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites. This is followed by a visit to the Cathedral of the Mother of Etchmiadzin, the main cathedral of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the very first Christian cathedral in the world. Currently, the Cathedral of the Mother is under reconstruction, and, unfortunately, it can only be seen from the outside. Zvartnots Cathedral was a unique architectural structure of impressive size, today only ruins remain of this greatness, but it is definitely necessary to visit this place.
