Arevatsag canyon
Arevatsag village is located in Lori region, which is about 170 km away from the capital Yerevan. Archaeological excavations in the area of the village have uncovered and studied a mausoleum, the antiquities of which are typical of BC. 11-10th and 8-6th centuries.
Arevatsag canyon, which is located between Arevatsag (formerly Chachaghan) village and Dzoragyugh, is a wonderful place to spend summer weekends. The locals call the rock Tsitsqar. For lovers of hiking, 6 km hikes to Kurtan gorge are also organized by some of the tourism companies. Here you can see Dzoraget and the famous Tsitskar, which together create a wonderful, unusual view. and finally, you can meet the sunset in Arevatsag canyon and continue your rest with even more positive energy. Dsegh
Dsegh village is one of the special places of the Lori region, renamed "Tumanyan" in honor of the Armenian poet Hovhannes Tumanyan. The house where Hovhannes Tumanyan lived is now a house-museum. The museum also houses an 8,000-piece personal library dedicated to the study of the Caucasus and Armenia, religion, culture, history, and folklore of different nations.
While visiting the village of Dsegh, you can also visit St. Bardzrakash St., dedicated to the first Armenian Catholicos St. Gregory. - St. Gregory Monastery. It was named White Monastery for its unique white color. Representatives of the Mamikonyan dynasty were educated here, and the clergy were engaged in scientific work.
In the north-eastern part of Dsegh village is the Holy Terunakan, Beautiful Cross khachkar. The latter is included in the list of immovable historical and cultural monuments of Dsegh. The Savior is depicted on the khachkar sitting on a throne. The khachkar is attributed to the 13th century or it can also be attributed to earlier times. Gyumri
Historical and cultural Gyumri is a wonderful direction for touring Armenia. As we know, it is the second largest city after Yerevan. Gyumri is rich in its sights, churches and monastic complexes. Unique impressions arise simply by walking through the streets of Gyumri, moving mentally to ancient times.

“Mendz Er” cave
“Mendz Er” cave is located on the road leading to Sanahin-Sarahart district of Alaverdi city of Lori region. It has already managed to become one of the most visited tourist centers in Lori. The formerly inhabited cave, which later served as a hiding place and then as a barn, is now a museum, home to a locally known "Mendz er" lodge with life-size mannequins, a forge, and a small pond inside the cave.
In every corner of the natural cave that has become a museum, mannequins depict a certain period of life and several professions. In another corner, the 200-year-old metallurgical Alaverdi forge, the model of the Alaverdi bridge, and metalworking are created and depicted.

Lastiver
You have probably heard about the Lastiver's rich nature and organized hikes here. This fairy place, which combines the wonders of nature and human handicrafts, is located in the gorge of the Khachaghbyur River in the Tavush region, 3 km from the village of Yenokavan. Throughout the hike, centuries-old caves, waterfalls, and small huts built on trees seem to accompany guests.
On the walls of one of the caves you can see an interesting sculpture with the image of a wedding. The artist created it during the life of a hermit in a cave. That cave was called "Desert". The caves are on the edge of a huge gorge. In ancient times people had to build a staircase from one of the logs stacked on top of each other, which looked more like a raft (in Armenian “last”), and that’s why called "Lastiver".
Dilijan
One of the most favorite places of visitors is Dilijan, due to its forested nature and extremely clean air. At the same time, Dilijan is called a "cultural and intellectual city", and its healing water is exported to different countries of the world.
Haghartsin, Goshavank and Lake Parz are the must-see places that are really worth visiting at least once. Like most of the Armenian churches, Goshavank is also located on a hill, dating back to the 12th-13th centuries. Goshavank was one of the medieval religious, educational and cultural centers. Initially, the monastery was called Nor Getik, but after the death of Mkhitar Gosh, the monastery of Nor Getik, which he founded, was renamed Goshavank. Due to its high position, it is impossible not to be cut off from reality, to enjoy the fresh air and the green view. The church is small in size, but stands out in the whole Goshavank complex. Goshavank was one of the medieval religious, educational and cultural centers.
The Parz lake starts from springs and flowing. In the Parz lake, visitors have the opportunity to navigate and admire the wonders of nature directly from any part of the lake. The lake is magnificent in any season of the year, and the impressions while navigating are simply indescribable.
Trchkan
We have already talked about Trchkan waterfall, but we can talk endlessly about its attractiveness and peace. Trchkan waterfall is located on the border of Shirak and Lori marzes on the left tributary of Pambak river on Chichkan river. The Trchkan waterfall, or as the locals called “Chichkan” was the epicenter of the 1988 earthquake. It is one of the longest waterfalls in Armenia with its height of 23.5 meters. By the way, Trchkan is also included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Moreover, it has been included in the list of natural monuments since 2008, and since 2011 the area has been defined as a specially protected zone.
In addition to the traditional roads, you can reach the indescribable Trchkan by truck. It starts from Shirakavan village, and due to the good geographical location of the place and the positive staff, the road does not seem long.
Dendropark
It is not difficult to understand that Lori region is rich in many sights. Therefore, when visiting Lori region, do not forget to visit Dendropark, which is located in Gyulagarak village, 12 km away from Stepanavan town.
The area of the Botanical Garden is about 35 hectares, of which 17.5 hectares are occupied by natural forest, and the rest by ornamental trees. Currently, there are more than 500 species of trees brought from the Yerevan Botanical Garden, as well as from Russia, Georgia, Germany, China and many other countries. The California sequoia stands out from the trees here.
Being at an altitude of 1450 m above sea level, the weather here is cold and often rainy. But even the slightest cold weather will not prevent you from admiring the wonders of nature, the variety of vegetation, and interesting tree species.
Makaravank
Both Lori and Tavush regions stand out with their unique sights and of course nature. Makaravank, one of the unique medieval Armenian monuments, is located in Tavush region. The 13th century monastic complex consists of three churches, a convent and auxiliary buildings. Here, in addition to complex architectural solutions, the sculptural, and decorative elements also stand out with their highly artistic elaboration. All the buildings of the complex are made of reddish tuff, dark pink andesite-green stones.
While visiting Makaravank, you can also visit Ijevan Dendropark, where more than 600 species of rare plants and flowers are presented.
